Hyderabad: Security has been significantly intensified at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad following escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has ramped up surveillance, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring of the premises.
Authorities are maintaining a high alert status in close coordination with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and Special Branch (SB) police. CCTV cameras installed throughout the airport and its surroundings are being actively monitored to ensure passenger safety.
Increased Vigilance and Travel Advisory
As part of the enhanced security protocol directed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, passengers are undergoing thorough screening procedures. Travelers have been advised to arrive at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure to avoid delays.
Flight Cancellations to Key Destinations
Due to ongoing security concerns, flights from Shamshabad Airport to several northern destinations—Srinagar, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Chandigarh, and Rajkot—have been cancelled.
This development follows a broader nationwide alert, with 32 airports across India shut till May 15, as reported by The Hans India.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge passengers to stay updated through official airport communications.
